http://sanibelcaptivanews.com/captiva-real-estate-report-jensens-marina-19-85m/

19.5 million to have 'The chance to own an acre of land, on the bay, in the heart of Captiva is rare, let alone a 35-slip marina with rental cottages."

The acre on the bay may be true, but I don't think anyone is going to cough up 19,500,000 bucks for a 35 slip marina, some pre-WWII cottages, and the opportunity to sell live shrimp.

The Island Store will be next and then no more "Old Florida" on Captiva.

Don't feel bad or take it personally reebop, as fishing has been real slow up here in Bokeelia, on the north end of Pine Island, also. Maybe tomorrow!

Weather changed yesterday, late afternoon.  Wind kicked up and a storm came through.  Fishing had been incredibly slow, but with the weather changing I pedaled to the marina, bought a dozen shrimp, and tossed the line in as the wind really started to blow and rain was five minutes away.

I caught this one using a barbless hook.  They're all I use now.  One of the reasons I'm grabbing the fish.  They toss the hook pretty easy, especially when you're getting them out of the water.  I'm releasing what I catch, so I don't care.  However, since I got this one up and out, I wanted a pic.

Nice snook! If you are still there reebop, walk the beach and sight fish the snook. I have been doing that for the last 4 days on the "beach" in front of my house in Bokeelia! What a blast to see a snook crusing the shallows, put a top water fly (gurgler) next to him and watch him pounce!

Can anyone who has been at the resort lately tell me how the red tide has affected the area? We are planning a trip in Feb.
